2 slices bacon, diced
2 tart green apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (32-ounce) package refrigerated sauerkraut
1/4 teaspoon cumin
2 or 3 juniper berries
1/3 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup water
1 pound smoked pork chops
In large, heavy skillet over medium heat, cook bacon, apples and onion together until onion is softened.
Add sauerkraut, cumin, juniper berries, wine and water. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
Add chops, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
Serves 4.
