Crescent Date Honey Buns

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons honey
1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
12 pitted dates, cut in halves

Preheat oven to 400*F (205*C).

Combine the butter, pecans, brown sugar, and honey in an 8 or 9-inch baking pan. Heat in the oven until the butter melts; stir and set aside.

Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles. Place 3 date halves inside each triangle and roll up. Place on top of the butter mixture.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes; let cool for 3 minutes and then invert the pan onto a serving plate. Serve warm.
