Servings: 2-1/2 Quarts (1-1/4 Quarts Per Sheet Cake)
1-1/2 quart 2 lb 4 oz or 3-12 oz pkg) chocolate, semi-sweet, chips
1 cup (8 oz) butter or margarine
3-1/2 quart (3 lb 8 oz) sugar, powdered, sifted
3/4 cup (3-1/4 oz) milk, nonfat, dry
1 teaspoon salt
1-3/4 cups (variable) water, hot
Melt chocolate chips and butter or margarine over very low heat. Place in mixer bowl.
Sift together sugar, milk, and salt. Add to melted chocolate and butter. Add water to
ingredients in mixer bowl. Mix on low speed 1 minute or until blended. Mix on medium
speed 3 minutes or until smooth. Spread while still warm on cool cakes.
