4 sweet potatoes
1-1/2 teaspoons canola oil
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
grated peel of 1 lemon or orange
Cut potatoes lengthwise into 1-inch-wide wedges. Cut wedges in half crosswise. Steam in a covered saucepan until tender, 12 – 15 minutes. Coat a broiler pan with 1/2 teaspoon oil.
In a cup, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, pepper and grated peel. Sprinkle over potatoes.
Broil potatoes until they are lightly charred, 4 – 5 minutes.
