3/4 lbs. red currants
1/4 lbs. raspberries or blackberries
2 cups water
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
mix 1 cup cold water with a 3/4 cup of cornstarch
Bring the berries with 2 cups of water to a boil. Press the whole mix through a sive. Return juice with the sugar to the stove for another boil. Pour the cornstarch mixture into it, and bring one more time to a boil. Pour into dessert bowls and cool in refrigerator. This represents a jello type dessert.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla sauce
