Pink Pickled Onions

4 large onions, sliced
boiling water
125 ml vegetable oil 1/2 cup
125 ml vinegar 1/2 cup
50 ml ketchup 1/4 cup
25 ml sugar 2 tbsp

Pour boiling water over sliced onions in large bowl. Let stand 20 minutes. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over onions. Refrigerate 5 hours or more stirring onions once or twice. Keep refrigerated. Serve with beef and burgers.
