Delicious, when paired with 2002 Bella Sera® Delle Venezie Merlot
1 T Olive Oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1/4 Cup Beef broth
1/4 Cup Red wine
1/4 lb. Ground beef
1/4 lb. Ground pork
1 6 ounce can Tomato Paste
1 T Chopped fresh parsley
8 ounce Any pasta (penne, linguine), cooked and drained
Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a medium-sized skillet. Add onion and carrot and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, then add ground beef and pork, cooking until meat turns slightly brown. Add wine and beef broth, then simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomato paste and simmer for 5 more minutes, then bring mixture to a boil over high heat for 1 minute. Reduce heat to low, add parsley and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or until ground beef is fully cooked. Serve over any hot pasta of your choice.
