Million Dollar Cake and Icing

Cake:
2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup cold water
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vanilla

Icing:
5 tablespoon flour
1 cup cold milk
1/4 lb. soft butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening such as Crisco
1 cup granulated sugar
3 teaspoon vanilla

Cake:
Mix all ingredients with a mixer at medium speed until well blended. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes.

Icing:
Mix flour and milk in a saucepan. Turn on heat, cook and stir
until the mixture resembles stiff mashed potatoes. Let cool. In a large bowl beat remaining ingredients until fluffy. Add cooked mixture and beat again until fluffy.
