Italian Broiled Tomatoes

2 large tomatoes
pinch garlic powder
15 ml fresh parsley, chopped 1 tbsp
5 ml dried basil 1 tsp
2 ml dried oregano 1/2 tsp
fresh black pepper to taste
25 ml bread crumbs 2 tbsp

Cut tomatoes in half crosswise. Place cut side up on rack on shallow baking pan. Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder. Combine parsley, seasonings and bread crumbs. Divide mixture over surface of tomato halves.

Place pan about 6 inches (15 cm) below broiler. Broil for 3 to 4 minutes until tomatoes are heated through.

Serves 4
