Meatball:
2 lb. hamburger
1 grated uncooked potato
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 grated onion
1 egg
Sauce:
2 cups ketchup
2 cups Vernor’s ginger ale (Must be Vernor’s)
Mix all ingredients, except Vernor’s and ketchup. Form into balls. Bring Vernor’s and ketchup to a boil in a 5 quart pot. Drop balls into boiling liquid and cover. Cook for 1 hour on a low flame. Great for appetizer or as dinner.
NOTE:
Double ketchup-Vernor’s mixture and cook in an electric fry-pan.
If you are pressed for time purchase a bag of frozen meatballs and cook in the ketchup.
