Cranberry Apple Cobbler

Filling
5 cups sliced, peeled apples
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh cranberries
3 tablespoons tapioca
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter

Crust
3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
3 tablespoons milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix apples, sugar, cranberries, tapioca, cinnamon and water in a large saucepan. Let stand for 5 minutes. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full rolling boil (be careful it does not splatter on you). Pour into a 2 quart baking dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in 1/4 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until soft dough forms. Drop dough by tablespoons onto hot apple mixture. Bake 30 minute or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with whipped topping or ice cream.
