1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup ground blanched almonds
2 tablespoons ice water
Preheat oven to 475 deg. F. Combine flour and salt in mixing bowl. Add shortening and cut in finely. Add almonds and blend with fork. Add ice water gradually, mixing lightly with fork. Shape into ball and roll between two sheets of waxed paper. Line 9-inch pie pan with pastry and make a high, fluted edge. Prick thoroughly with the tines of a fork. Bake about 8 minutes or until nicely browned. Cool.
