1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons whole cloves
3 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
2 quarts cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
1 (46-ounce) can pineapple juice, chilled
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
2 quarts ginger ale, chilled
Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool completely. Strain, discarding cloves and cinnamon sticks.
To serve, combine spiced syrup with the juices and ginger ale in a punch bowl, mixing well.
Makes 7 quarts.
