Sauerkraut Salad

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (32-ounce) package sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
1 cup celery, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped

In a large bowl, combine sugar and oil; mix well. Add all ingredients.

Chill several hours or overnight before serving.

Yields approximately 6 to 8 servings.

Note:
Best commercially produced sauerkraut is sold packaged in plastic bags in the refrigerated section of most supermarkets.
