6 medium onions, peeled
45 ml butter 3 tbsp
45 ml flour 3 tbsp
1 ml salt 1/4 tsp
1 ml dried thyme 1/4 tsp
375 ml milk 1 1/2 cup
dash pepper
dash ginger
Simmer onions in boiling water 20 to 25 minutes or until tender. Melt butter in saucepan. Whisk in flour and seasonings. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook and stir until mixture thickens; about 4 to 5 minutes. Add pepper and ginger. Pour over onions in serving dish.
