Lemon and Garlic Potato Mash

6 medium potatoes
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1/2 cup mayonnaise
freshly ground pepper

Peel and cook the potatoes in boiling salted water until tender. Crush and peel garlic and chop finely. Drain potatoes, add garlic, lemon rind, mayonnaise and pepper. Mash well. Serve with sausages, boiling bacon or ham steaks.
