The foamy wine sauce, a very German dish, is a sweet sauce served with a variety of desserts. It is excellent with apples, peeled and steamed in a mixture of water and white wine.
4 eggs
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup white wine
juice of 1/2 lemon
Foam eggs with sugar and cornstarch. Meanwhile heat the wine and stir slowly into mixture, add the lemon juice. Mix again until light and frothy.
