Caramelized Onions

500 ml large white or red onions, cut into chunks 2 cup
15 ml margarine or butter 2 tbsp
20 ml brown sugar 4 tsp

In a medium skillet; cook onions in hot margarine or butter over medium-low heat, covered, for 13 to 15 minutes or until onions are tender. Uncover; add brown sugar. Cook and stir over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until onions are golden. Serve hot over burgers, prime rib or beef steaks.
