Buttercream Frosting

1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 cup egg yolks
1-1/4 cups butter
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon almond flavoring

Sift 3/4 of the powdered sugar into double oiler. Place over hot water; add egg yolks, blending with sugar. Keep mixture lukewarm. Remove pan from water; beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Cool. Cream butter, cornstarch, and remaining powdered sugar until foamy. Add flavoring; blend thoroughly. Add egg mixture to butter mixture gradually; do not over mix.

Use to frost cake. Let chill for several minutes to set icing.
