Bechamel Sauce

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup milk

Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Return to heat; cook, stirring, until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk all at once. Return to heat. Cook, stirring, over medium heat, until sauce comes to a boil. Cook, stirring 1 minute.

Makes 1/2 cup
