500 g beets, whole 1 lb
15 ml butter 1 tbsp
salt & pepper to taste
Cut tops from beets leaving about an inch of stem. Wrap beets individually in foil. Place on BBQ (or oven) with temperature of approximately 375 F (190 C). Cook for about 1 1/2 hours for medium sized beets or until they are tender when pierced with a fork. Unwrap, cool slightly and slip off skins. Add butter, salt and pepper to taste and serve.
