Annabelle’s French Toast

8 eggs
1/2 pint half-and-half
cinnamon, to taste
nutmeg, to taste
ginger, to taste
salt, to taste
2 tablespoon triple sec, or to taste (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
8 slices French bread
sweet butter
maple syrup
whipped cream
fresh strawberries
slivered almonds

Beat together eggs and half-and-half.

Add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt.

Add a splash (two tablespoons or to taste) Triple Sec.

Thoroughly soak bread in mixture.

Pan-fry in butter until golden.

Serve hot, topped with maple syrup (preferably pure maple syrup) and whipped cream.

Garnish with strawberries and slivered almonds.
