Potato Clam Chowder

4 slices bacon, cut up
1 medium onion, chopped
250 ml celery, chopped 1 cup
284 ml can clams 10 oz
750 ml potatoes, cubed 3 cup
500 ml water 2 cup
salt & pepper to taste
1 ml thyme 1/4 tsp
30 ml butter 2 tbsp
30 ml flour 2 tbsp
500 ml cereal cream 2 cup

In a large fry pan; cook bacon. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of bacon drippings. Add onion and celery. Sauté until tender. Add clams and potatoes, water, salt, pepper and thyme.

In separate pot, melt butter. Add flour to make a paste. Add cereal cream. Mix well. Add to the rest of the ingredients in the pot. Simmer mixture for 10 to 15 minutes until mixture has thickened and is heated throughout.
