Vanilla Sauce for 100

Servings: 100 Portions (1-1/2 Gallons)
Portions: 1/4 Cup Each

1-1/2 quart (2 lb 10 oz) sugar, granulated
1-1/8 cups (5 oz) cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 gallon water
1 cup (8 oz) butter or margarine
2 tablespoon vanilla

Combine sugar, starch, and salt; add to water. Bring to a boil; cook for 5 minutes or
until thick and clear; remove from heat. Add butter or margarine and vanilla; mix well.

NOTE:
Sauce may be served over puddings, fruit, and plain cake squares.
