Place squares of white and yellow American cheese on top of a grilled burger in a checkerboard pattern as a creative presentation.
1 pound lean ground beef
2 (1-ounce) slices LAND O LAKES® White American Cheese, quartered
2 (1-ounce) slices LAND O LAKES® Yellow American Cheese, quartered
4 hamburger buns
Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
Shape ground beef into 4 (3/4-inch thick) patties.
Place patties on grill. Grill, turning once, until cooked through (15 to 18 minutes).
To serve, place 1 burger on bottom half of bun; top with 2 quarters white American cheese and 2 quarters yellow American cheese, placing alternately in checkerboard pattern. Cover with top half of bun. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
