Warm and filling for a cold winter day.
1 TBSP Olive Oil (you may need a little more if your sausage is very lean)
1 lb hot or mild Italian Sausage (your choice)
1 small cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup water
1 lb medium or wide egg noodles
Black pepper, freshly ground
Slit sausage casings and remove. Break sausage up into small pieces. Brown sausage in olive oil in a large pot. When sausage is cooked through, place into crockpot and add water and shredded cabbage. Cover pot and cook on low heat for 7-9 hrs stirring occasionally. When ready to eat boil the noodles. When done, drain noodles and place in a large bowl. Put cabbage and sausage in bowl on top of noodles. Grind pepper over the top and mix all ingredients well. Serve immediately.
