1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. When boiling hard, time for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool, stirring occasionally to prevent graining. If your cake layers are cool, you may use an electric mixer to speed this up. When icing is cool enough to be fairly stiff, ice cake.
