Vanilla Glaze for 100

Yield: 2-3/4 cups

Ingredients Weights Measure
Sugar, powdered, sifted 1 lb 8 ounces 1-1/2 quarts
Butter or margarine, softened   1-1/2 ounces 3 tablespoons
Water, boiling   3/4 cup
Vanilla   1-1/2 teaspoons
  1. Combine powdered sugar, butter or margarine, boiling water and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  2. Spread glaze over baked sweet rolls or coffee cakes. Coat or dip fried doughnuts in glaze.

NOTE:

  1. This glaze may be used for a variety of sweet dough products (See Guide for Sweet Dough Make-Up) or doughnuts.

VARIATIONS:

  1. ALMOND GLAZE: In Step 1, omit vanilla; use 3/4 teaspoons flavoring, almond, Follow Step 2.
  2. RUM GLAZE: In Step 1, omit vanilla; use 1-1/2 teaspoons flavoring, rum. Follow Step 2.
