Delicious, when paired with Bella Sera® Delle Venezie Merlot
1 lb. Lean ground beef
1 Onion, chopped
1 T Garlic powder
1 T Dried oregano
1 (26 ounces) jar, high quality tomato-based pasta sauce
1 (15 ounce container) ricotta cheese
1 Cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 Cup Shredded parmesan cheese
1 pinch Nutmeg
1 T Finely chopped parsley
6 Lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large skillet, cook ground beef, stirring constantly, until beef browns.
Add onions, garlic powder, oregano and nutmeg, then saute until onions are transparent. Remove pan from heat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta, parmesan cheese, nutmeg, parsley and 1/4 of the mozzarella cheese.
Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a rectangular baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine remaining sauce with ground beef and onion mixture.
Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce at the bottom of the baking dish.
Layer with 1/2 the meat sauce, 1/2 the ricotta mixture, then top with lasagna noodles.
Layer again, with remaining meat sauce and ricotta mixture, then top with remaining mozzarella.
Cover with aluminum foil and cook for 40 minutes.
Uncover, bake for 10 minutes more, and remove from oven.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
