15 ml butter 1 tbsp
6 medium onions, thinly sliced
15 anchovy fillets
6 large potatoes, sliced & cut into thin strips
2 ml white pepper 1/2 tsp
375 ml light cream 11/2 cup
25 ml fine dry breadcrumbs 2 tbsp
25 ml butter, cut into small pieces 2 tbsp
Lightly sauté onions in butter. Layer onions, anchovies and potatoes in a greased casserole, beginning and ending with a layer of potatoes and sprinkle each layer with pepper. Pour on half the cream, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and dot with butter. Bake 40 minutes at 350 F (180 C). Pour on remaining cream and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
