1 7/8 cups butter, softened and divided use
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
5-1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided use
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350*F.
Combine 1 cup softened butter, cream cheese, and 2 cups flour. Spread evenly in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
In a bowl, combine remaining butter and flour, cinnamon, and brown sugar; knead together. Add oil and continue kneading until small uniform crumbs form. Sprinkle the crumbs over the batter and bake for 20 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Makes 24 squares.
