Strawberry Cream Pie

2 (3-ounce) packages cream cheese
2 pints strawberries
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup heavy cream
1 (9-inch) baked pie shell

Prepare a 9-inch baked pie shell according to the package directions. Cool.

In a bowl beat cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Line the 9′ pie shell with the cream cheese. Clean and halve 1 pint of strawberries. Arrange on top of the cream cheese.

In a saucepan combine 1 pint of crushed strawberries with cornstarch, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens. Cool and pour over the raw berries. Chill until set.

Garnish with whipped cream.

Makes 8 servings.
