Spooky Spiderweb Cookie

Cookies
1 16.5 ounce package refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
1/3 cup Unsweetened baking cocoa

Frosting and Decorations
1/2 cup Vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting
5 drops Red food coloring
9 drops Yellow food coloring
7 large Black gumdrops

Heat oven to 350 deg F. Line 12-inch pizza pan with foil; grease foil. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir or knead in cocoa until well blended. With floured fingers, press dough in pan to form crust. Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until edges are set. Really watch the oven, so it does not overbake. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

In 1-quart saucepan over low heat, melt frosting, stirring constantly. Stir in red and yellow food coloring to make orange color.

Place frosting in small resealable food storage plastic bag; partially seal bag. Cut small hole in bottom corner of bag. Squeeze bag in spiral pattern, starting from center of cookie. Starting at center, quickly pull edge of knife outward through frosting at 1-inch intervals to make web design. Let stand 15 minutes or until set.

Meanwhile, on generously sugared surface, press 4 gumdrops into 2-inch rounds. Slice each thinly into 6 pieces; roll and shape to resemble spider legs. Place remaining 3 gumdrops on spiderweb to resemble spiders; arrange 8 legs around each spider.

Note

Black gumdrops can usually be found in the candy stores that are in most malls.
