1/2 cup butter, chilled
1 (18.25-ounce) package devil’s food cake mix
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow creme
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Using an electric mixer, mix butter into cake mix until pea-size crumbs form, about 3 minutes. Remove 1 1/2 cups and set aside. Spread remaining crumbs in the bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan. Gently press crumbs into pan covering the entire surface.
In a separate bowl, combine peanut butter and marshmallow creme; mix well. In small batches, spread peanut butter mixture over entire surface of crumbs. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
