Portions: 1 Sandwich Each
9 lb sardines
2-1/4 cups (1 lb 4 oz) catsup, tomato
2-1/4 cups vinegar
200 slices (12 lb) bread
1 quart (2 lb) butter or margarine, softened
Mash sardines. Combine sardines, catsup and vinegar; mix together lightly. Spread 1 slice buttered bread with 1/2 cup mixture; top with second slice of buttered bread.
NOTE:
Other variations in sandwich spread may be used.
