Rum Cake

1 pkg yellow cake mix
1 – 4 serv pkg instant vanilla pudding
1 egg more than the cake box requires
1/4 cup more liquid than the cake box requires

Grease and flour an angel food or bundt pan and cover bottom with walnuts. Mix all above and bake as directed but may take longer, about 50 55 minutes.

To one stick of butter in a saucepan add 3/4 cup sugar and allow to melt and bubble. Boil on moderate heat for 10 minutes then remove from heat and add 1/2 cup rum. Poke cooled cake all over with a fork and pour glaze over slowly, allowing it to soak in. Serve with a dollop of rum flavoured whipped cream.

I’ve never tried it, but you should be able to do the same with chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding mix.

NOTE
The recipe said half milk and half rum but I’ve used all rum with great success, oil as required by mix.
