8 cups peeled and sliced apples
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Mix together sliced apples, sugar, 3 tablespoon flour, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour into a 9-inch unbaked pie shell.
Mix together 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Cover the edge of the crust with aluminum foil.
Bake at 450*F for 15 minutes then reduce the oven temperature to 350*F. Bake until the apples are tender, 25 to 35 minutes. Cool completely.
