Dollar Sized Scotch Tea Pancakes

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk

Can be baked ahead of time and frozen until the proper time. Cream together butter and icing sugar. Add well-beaten egg; add flour, baking powder, soda and salt, sifted together, alternately with milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles appear on top. When done, place on tea towel. Cool; serve with butter.
