Moist, sweet and healthful, this loaf tastes of fruit and cinnamon, with the crunchy goodness of nuts.
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
2-1/4 cups bread flour
3/4 cup wheat bran
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups water
1 cup chopped dates
3/4 cup slivered almonds or walnuts
Place ingredients in bread pan in the order given by manufacturer of bread machine. Add the dates and nuts at beep.
Select sweet or basic setting; press start.
Makes 1 1/2 pound loaf.
