8 cup water
8 cup sugar
3 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon green food coloring
1 tablespoon essence of peppermint, also known as peppermint spirits*
1 pint 190 proof clear alcohol (150 proof will do)
*Available at pharmacies.
Mix all ingredients in a 1 gallon glass jar. Secure lid tightly. Place in dark, cool place and allow to age for at least three weeks.
