1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
1/3 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon beef base
1 (28-ounce) can baked beans with molasses
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook beef, onions and celery until meat is browned and vegetables are tender; drain. Stir in water and beef base into meat mixture. Add the beans, ketchup, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper; mixing well.
Cover and bake at 375*F (190*C) for 60 to 70 minutes or until bubbly; stir.
Top with crumbled bacon.
