2-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sifted icing sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
Sift then measure flour; resift with salt and baking powder. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Add rolled oats. Cover. Chill overnight. Preheat oven to 375 deg. F. Roll out on lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with assorted floured cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer to wire cake rack. When cold, decorate with sugar frosting and candy decorations as desired.
