1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 pkg. (8 oz) cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon milk or cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix brown sugar, flour and nuts together. Stir in melted butter and mix with hands until crumbly. Remove 1 cup of mixture to be used later as topping. Place remainder in square pan and press firmly. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Beat cream cheese with sugar. Add egg, lemon juice, milk and vanilla. Pour onto baked “crust”. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cut into squares when cool.
