3/4 to 1 cup sugar
2 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 to 7 cup green apples, sliced
1/4 inch thick
2 tablespoon bourbon or apple juice
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup raisins, covered with apple juice for a few hours
pastry for double crust 9-inch pie
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix in apples and bourbon. Add sugar, nuts and raisins; mix. Put pastry in bottom of pie pan. Fill with apple mixture and dot with butter. Put on top crust and pinch edges together. Bake 15 minutes and then lower temperature to 375 degrees. Bake an additional 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
