30 ml vegetable oil 2 tbsp
2 large onions, finely chopped 2
500 g steak, cut into small pieces 1 lb
salt & pepper to taste
15 ml all purpose flour 1 tbsp
2 carrots, peeled & cut into large chunks 2
250 ml rutabaga, cut into small chunks 1 cup
250 ml beef stock 1 cup
In a large saucepan; heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and saute for 5 minutes or until translucent. Add beef and brown on all sides. Season with salt and pepper. Dust flour over meat, stirring well. Add carrots and rutabagas. Pour in stock and bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2 hours.
