Applesauce Topping

This naturally sweetened apple sauce has a berry twist. Try it on waffles in the morning and ice cream in the evening.

1/2 cup applesauce
1 apple, peeled, cored and grated
4 tablespoons strawberry jam
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons honey

Combine applesauce, apple, jam, butter and honey in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes, or until thickened. Refrigerate once cooled.

Makes about 1 cup.
