6 cups pinto beans, washed and soaked
15 to 20 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
6 quarts water
Bring to a boil in a large pot. Reduce heat and cook for 2 + hours, until done. Do not salt before cooking, this makes the beans tough. After cooking, salt to taste. Place beans in a bowl and beat with an electric mixer. These can be frozen in cottage cheese cartons or other containers to be used as needed.
