1 teaspoon peppercorns
1 pound round steak
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons brandy
1 teaspoon beef base or bouillon granules
Coarsely crack peppercorns. Sprinkle both sides of round steak with the crushed peppercorns; pressing in firmly. Allow to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Add oil to a microwave-safe browning dish; spreading evenly. Place the steaks in the dish, microwave, covered, on HIGH for 1 minute.
Turn the steaks and microwave, covered, on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes, or until done. Remove the steaks to a warm serving platter.
Stir brandy and crushed beef base into the liquid in the microwave dish. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH for 5 to 8 minutes, or until boiling. Pour over the steaks before serving.
