Tomato Sherbet

12 fresh tomatoes
1 slice onion
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1 teaspoon celery seed
2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

In a saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 min., stirring occasionally. Strain and cool. Churn-freeze.
