Roast Duck

1 (5 lb.) duckling
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon powdered ginger

Wash and dry duckling. Combine remaining ingredients and brush inside and out over duckling; let stand for 1 hour, turning occasionally. Roast at 350 degrees for 2 hours, turning and basting with drippings occasionally.
